Lincoln Cathedral

Description

This is a view of Lincoln Cathedral from the Walls of Lincoln Castle. I like it because it really shows off the vastness of the cathedral. The wierd cone thing sticking above the trees, behind the cathedral, is part of the cathedral building too. Its the roof of the chapter house.
A cool thought is that although the buildings between the castle and the cathedral are pretty old and worn looking, the cathedral is about eight hundred years older than most of them! :D

Another thing that is maybe worth a mention is that this picture kind of shows how the two towers closest to us lean away from each other, haha. The towers are nearly 1000 years old (although they were extended in the 1400's) and have settled and moved over time. They used to have huge spires on top of them too, which would have exagerated the leaning of them. A lot of work has been done in the past to try to stop them from leaning any further. But I think they are safe now, haha. :D
